How to reset your folder names to your own preference
So, let’s get to it!
1 - Getting started
Open the Catleeezr app on your device. On the home page, click “dashboard”, then the “jobs” tab.
On that page, scroll down to “Job History. This is where your previously added files are listed. As shown in the picture, we have 4 jobs in the panel.
If you want to see the details, use the blue arrow on the right. Here you will see the file destination that you previously created. It also shows the keywords that Cataleezr extracted from the document and a text extract that it made.
You can expand this job history list by clicking "view more" at the bottom. It will take you to all the jobs processed by Catleezr, organized according to the date created in descending order.
2 - Organizing
So, let's start with the first job on our list. When you click on “details”, you can see everything about this job. And, since we want to store the file according to our naming conventions, we will then click “modify”.
This page now shows us all we need to edit the document's info. From the first folder to the last name of the file, you can see its path and easily edit it. The keywords and extracts derived from the document also display here.
For instance, if I want this to be just "Education" instead of Law_ Media_Education, I can type that. I can also remove the underscores(_), etc.
Afterwards, we can save our modification. How?
Scroll down to the bottom, where you will also find the option "Remember the location for new files to organize" Make sure that it is selected. This simply tells Cataleezr to use the new names you created for other files that need to be organized in the same location.
If you do not want this, you can leave it unselected.
Then, click “save”. Now Cataleezr has created a new location for the file that we modified. We can display its hierarchy by clicking on the “Show Parent Folder” button.
If you are satisfied, then go back and click “Accept” to accept the modification. It will take you back to the “Job History” dashboard.
3 - Additional files
Now, let's try organizing new files and see what happens.
Go back to the Home page. Now add some files, both new ones and those that we already modified in Cataleezr. You keep the location as the default root folder you set in the Local Disk, then “Organize”.
The app will then process the files using the information that you set for it to remember.
Cataleezr keeps the subfolders of the files you previously modified. It also creates relevant ones for new files. So, it can identify similar files and maintain the same location.
Click “Done” when you have finished, which will take you back to the jobs dashboard. Here, you can now view each item's job details and follow the above steps again to modify the files as needed.
“Modify” all the way to "Show Parent” folder to confirm.
It’s that easy! Cataleezr can organize your files in different locations based on your naming conventions. It has the intelligence to group similar files and documents into a proper hierarchy.
